In addition to being a Venture Partner, Nadeem Shaikh is the Managing Director of anthems | edge - the group's innovative new operational and strategic consulting business, where he also leads the payments | edge practice. Nadeem brings an enormous wealth of talent and experience to the Group having held a number of strategic, innovation and management roles in the financial services and information technology sectors over the past 20 years.
Previous to joining the anthems group, Nadeem spent 5 years as a Senior Executive at First Data Corporation where he held a number of senior roles, including most recently as Head of the Financial Institutions line of business across First Data’s international business. In this role, he had responsibility for co-coordinating and driving strategic sales, product development and the delivery of payment solutions to banking and financial institution customers across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Canada and had overall responsibility for the strategic issuer processing business across the international business.
Prior to this appointment, Nadeem held executive management responsibility for First Data’s Europe, Middle East & Africa business, comprising more than 6,000 employees. In this role he oversaw First Data’s business in more than 20 countries with an annual turnover of US$1.0 billion. He devised and implemented First Data’s growth strategy in the region, developed and managed key client and partner relationships, and introduced new lines of business and products. In the space of two years, he created an organic sales pipeline of over US$1 billion and initiated several major acquisitions.
Prior to joining First Data, Nadeem held senior positions at American Management Systems, a global business and IT consulting firm, including, latterly, practice leader with responsibility for the European and Australasian corporate and investment banking sector.
He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services and IT industries across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. He has worked in a range of businesses including start-ups, turnarounds, joint ventures, private equity owned firms and mature companies.
Nadeem holds a MBA from London Business School and double Bachelors of Science degrees from the University of New York. He resides outside London with his wife and three children.
