Prior to founding the anthemis group in 2010, Udayan Goyal founded Financial Technology Advisors (FT Advisors), where he continues to lead the group's advisory business based in London. He was formerly a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Financial Technology Advisory at Deutsche Bank AG in the Global Financial Institutions Group, based in London.


Udayan joined Deutsche Bank to develop the global financial technology and specialty finance capability of the firm. Prior to that, Udayan had specific responsibility for developing the pan-European specialty finance practice of CSFB with a focus on financial technology. In this capacity he maintained relationships with payment processors, brokerage companies, inter-dealer brokers, hedge funds and stock exchanges globally.

Udayan is well known in the industry and has featured as an invited speaker at numerous events including: Cards and Payments Europe where he delivered a speech on consolidation within the European payments space (Milan, 2006), the Fourth International Capital Markets Conference (Thessaloniki, Greece, 2007), Finexpo - City Technology Strategies, Financial News Technology for the Buy-Side, and FEA Automation & Innovation in The City (all 2008). He has been invited to be a regular guest lecturer for the course "Modern Financial Products" at Polytechnic University, New York and has also contributed a chapter in the recently published book “Handbook of Electronic Trading” edited by Joe Rosen and has published articles in other trade publications such as the European Card Review (“M&A and the Changing Face of Europe’s Processors” in the March/ April 2004 edition.)

He was named one of the Financial News Top 100 Rising Stars in both 2009 and 2010.

He is a graduate of the University of Cambridge.
